The movie is set in 1940s Shanghai, where a group of wannabe gangsters, led by the notorious Sing (Stephen Chow), try to make a name for themselves in the city's underworld. However, their plans are foiled when they accidentally stumble upon a hidden Shaolin temple, where they encounter a group of skilled martial artists. The gangsters soon discover that the temple is being threatened by a corrupt police officer, Inspector Chon (Patrick Sze), who wants to demolish it to build a new housing complex. Kung Fu Hustle
