The movie picks up where the first installment left off, with Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham) facing a new threat in the form of a massive prehistoric shark, the Megalodon. This time, the stakes are higher as Jonas teams up with a team of scientists, including Dr. Minway (Li Bingbing) and Suyin (Cliff Curtis), to stop a group of ruthless miners from disturbing the ocean's depths and unleashing a terrifying creature.
