The film tells the story of Ram (Ranveer Singh), a charming and carefree young man from the Ram family, and Leela (Deepika Padukone), a beautiful and strong-willed young woman from the rival Goliyon family. The two meet by chance and fall deeply in love, but their families' bitter feud and the animosity between them make their love impossible.
